About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Protocol Engineer with deep expertise in consensus mechanisms and blockchain protocol development, particularly with Tendermint/CometBFT and Ethereum systems.

We're a venture-backed startup founded by technologists from MIT, Columbia, Google, Ethereum Foundation, Polygon, and more. The team is launching the first of its kind Layer 1 blockchain, which leverages the next deep-tech technologies.

The Ideal Candidate
You're a systems-focused engineer with strong knowledge of consensus algorithms, P2P networking, and blockchain architecture. You understand the intricacies of known consensus engines (Tendermint / CometBFT / HotStuff). Proven protocol engineering experience with deep understanding of Ethereum execution layer and Engine API.

Required Qualifications
  • Systems or protocol engineering experience. At least 3 years of experience in Rust. Deep knowledge of Tendermint / CometBFT / HotStuff architectures.
Bonus Points For
  • Hands-on experience with ABCI / IBC
  • Hands-on experience with Ethereum execution or consensus layers
  • Familiarity with Engine API
  • Cryptographic background.
